Richardson & Wrench begins the new year with 500,326 reasons to celebrate. That’s the grand total that the network has raised for the Starlight Children’s Foundation to further its work helping to brighten the lives of seriously ill children in hospitals right around Australia.
The milestone was reached at the close of 2017 with offices and agents across the group contributing a portion of their commission from sales during the Spring Campaign.
R&W Managing Director Andrew Cocks said the achievement was a credit to all participating offices who have embraced the network’s philosophy of giving back.
“Our partnership with Starlight has been immensely rewarding and the network has really got on board to support the incredible work that Starlight does,” said Mr Cocks.
“I’m extremely proud of the generosity and commitment that they’ve shown. Many of our people have taken their involvement beyond fundraising to become actively involved in Starlight activities.”
Richardson & Wrench raises funds for Starlight throughout the year through a range of events and activities but ramps up activity with the Spring Campaign.
At the start of last year’s campaign the grand total stood at $415,169 and despite the real estate market facing a few headwinds, it did nothing to dampen agent donations.
Mr Cocks said that having broken through the $500,000 barrier the network’s sights were set on cracking $1 million.
“It never hurts to be ambitious and having hit one major milestone provides encouragement to hurry towards the next. Just watch this space.”
